KKB Announces New Managing Partner and Principal

KKB is proud to announce that Carisa Ferrer is the Firm’s new Managing Partner, and Raven Polk has been promoted to Principal.

February 4, 2021

Carisa joined KKB in 2006 and became a Partner in July 2016, where she led the Firm’s Audit and Accounting practice. Carisa is KKB’s first female Managing Partner in the Firm’s 60-year history. Carisa will accept the reins from Stuart Jaffe, who has been the Firm’s Managing Partner since 2009. Stu will continue in his active role as a Senior Partner in the Firm, while also serving on the Firm’s Executive Advisory Committee.

Carisa has 20 years of accounting, auditing, and tax experience focused on small and middle-market clients and closely-held businesses. Her career began as an auditor with a “Big Four” accounting firm, and her background includes a position as a foreign exchange trader with a multinational bank before returning to public accounting. Carisa develops close relationships with clients and provides strategies and solutions to address their tax challenges and financial matters. With astute leadership qualities, sound judgment, and strategic decision-making skills, Carisa is dedicated to the Firm’s core values of professionalism, attentive client service, and exceptional work. Much like her predecessors, Carisa leads by example, providing the highest level and value-added services and support to clients, as well as acting as a role model for the Firm’s staff. As an advocate of KKB’s investment in leading edge technology, Carisa promotes its use in all capacities and engagements.

Carisa states, “As we write the next chapter in KKB’s history, I look forward to managing the Firm, addressing the challenges of an ever-changing business environment, and identifying future strategic opportunities. Collectively, we have the skills, experience, and resilience to adapt to difficult situations and emerge even stronger, as demonstrated by KKB’s staff and clients.”

Raven Polk joined KKB in August 2007 as a staff accountant and she provides tax and accounting services to a wide range of clients. Raven specializes in audits, reviews, and compilations of non-public businesses, not-for-profit organizations, and 401(k) plans. Throughout her career, Raven has demonstrated an astute ability to develop long-lasting relationships by connecting with clients and peers. With a technical focus on KKB’s Audit and Accounting (A&A) practice, Raven is instrumental in implementing new A&A policies and procedures at the Firm while supervising and training staff.

Raven states, “I am so grateful for the opportunities I have received and the relationships I have developed with our valued clients and my colleagues at KKB. I look forward to a bright future as a Principal at the Firm, and to the continued success of our clients.”

Together with everyone at KKB, please join us in congratulating Carisa and Raven and celebrating their achievements!
